In an emotional ceremony, the mayor of A Pastoriza Primitivo Iglesias gave to the musician Xosé Manuel Seivane, a commemorative plaque of the event and a copy of the plenary meeting in which it was unanimously agreed to dedicate the building of the House of Music to him .

On the other hand, that same day, also in A Pastoriza, Xosé Manuel Seivane presided the acts of the XVII edition of the “Encontros na Terra Chá” dedicated to his figure. The musicians Santiago Caneiro, Sito Carracedo, Raúl Galego and Xaneco Tubío, as well as the historian Xesús Torres and the president of the Galician Association of Craft, Manolo Gonzalez, took this opportunity to emphasize many virtues of Xosé Manuel Seivane, which was described, besides as friend, as “a gaitas maker and a living treasure that contributed actively to conservation and promotion of Galician culture.”

The great impact in mass media showed the recognition of his work “to preserve traditional music.” Seivane family was described as “very well known because of manufacturing and mastery of instruments.” And in words of Alfonso Blanco, the coordinator of Xermolos, Xosé Manuel Seivane represents a line of continuity with the past: “Thanks to him, traditional music has been conserved.”

After the round table and lunch, there was music played among others, by Alen do Mar, Mini and Mero, Caivanca and Susana Seivane.
